🌬️Meet The Blow Ins… Ready to Make Their Mark! 🌬️

They didn’t start in Mayobridge… but they’ve certainly made it home 👀
A determined group of blow-ins — who married in or moved from counties like Armagh and Meath — are stepping up to take on the Family Fortunes Fundraiser, all in aid of building a brand new community gym at Mayobridge GAC 💪

Nicola Grant, from the Kingdom of Mourne (An Ríocht 👑), represented her club in camogie, folk singing, and Irish dancing, and was crowned Róisín na Ríochta — the Kingdom’s take on the Rose of Tralee. Whisked to Mayobridge by “Granto/the Grinch/Brendan Grant, a formidable defender with multiple championship medals for his club and now an underage coach, they’re raising their three sons and daughter as four budding GAA enthusiasts beginning their journey with Droichead Mayo 🩵

Hughie Mackin - Next up, we’ve got a man bravely crossing the border into County Down territory Hughie Mackin from Kileavey, County Armagh! By day he’s laying concrete, but by evening he’s laying down the law on the sidelines with Mayobridge GAA. With roots in Ballyvally, a heart claimed by a Clonduff woman, and a red van that’s logged more miles than most county players, Hughie spends his life ferrying kids to matches, coaching the next generation, and squeezing in the odd game for the thirds when he can. With two young ones at home also turning out for Mayobridge — will Hughie bring the glory to County Down?

Sarah Farrington hails from the Royal County of Meath 💚💛 Sarah is one of our proud blow-ins who has truly made Mayobridge home! She’s been involved with the Senior LGFA and G4M0 teams over the past few years. A physio by day, she’s also known for her Wednesday night Pilates classes — keeping the community moving! 💪🧘🏼‍♀️

Ciara Magee - Long suffering wife of Cathal. Doing life without parole in Mayobridge. With her medal count higher than her husband’s, here’s hoping the two girls take after their Mummy on the football field. Her address might be Co. Down but there will only ever be “one fair county”. 🧡

They may not be born and bred Mayobridge, but they’ve become a huge part of the community through hard work, family life, and getting stuck in wherever they’re needed. Now, they’re bringing that same dedication (and a bit of competitive spirit!) to the stage 😄

Expect teamwork, plenty of laughs, and maybe even a few surprises as The Blow Ins go head-to-head for bragging rights — all for a brilliant cause! 🎉
